WESTBOROUGH, Mass., Sept. 27, 2017 -- BJ's Wholesale Club today announced that it has donated a one year supply of gas (valued at $5,000) to the Food Bank for Westchester to celebrate the new BJ's Gas® location in Yorktown Heights, NY. The donation will help the Food Bank for Westchester distribute over 7.4 million pounds of fresh foods to underserved communities.

"BJ's is dedicated to fueling families with everyday essentials and access to fresh, quality food," said Chris George, general manager of BJ's Wholesale Club in Yorktown Heights. "We're honored to partner with the Food Bank for Westchester to support our neighbors in need."

BJ's Wholesale Club opened its newest BJ's Gas® location at 3363 Crompound Road, Yorktown Heights, NY on Saturday, August 31st, allowing for even more savings for members. In addition to the new Yorktown Heights location, BJ's operates a total of 133 gas stations in the eastern United States and Ohio.

"Suburban poverty and poor nutrition are a reality, especially in the county of Westchester," said Leslie Gordon, President and CEO of Food Bank for Westchester. "The core of our work is achieved by partnering with local member programs that distribute food to families and individuals in need. The BJ's gas donation is crucial to expanding our mission of creating a hunger-free environment."
