BJ's Wholesale Club Celebrates Students Who Love to Read

March 1, 2005 8:00 AM EST
NATICK, Mass. -- In honor of the National Education Association's 8th annual Read Across America Day, BJ's will recognize the classroom from a school within its Adopt-A-School program whose students read the most books during the month of February. Join us as BJ's rewards these students by hosting a birthday party celebration on March 2, the day that Dr. Seuss would have turned 101.

To celebrate the national event, 155 BJ's Clubs conducted a month-long reading incentive program during February with BJ's adopted elementary schools. BJ's Adopt-A-School program is a comprehensive relationship between local BJ's Clubs and students, faculty, parents, and administrators. BJ's works with each school to identify what specific needs the school would like to address and then helps them in a myriad of ways from monetary help to product donations.

The National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America Day is designed to encourage children to pick up a book and read on March 2. For more information visit http://www.nea.org/.
